Cast your vote to help save the whooping cranes

Dec 15, 2010 | refresheverything.ca | Related Press

While The Aransas Project works to protect the world’s only naturally migrating flock of whooping cranes, Operation Migration is vying for a grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to help fund their work teaching cranes born in captivity a migration route to their winter home in Florida using ultralight aircraft. The chicks in the Operation Migration population come from captive adult whooping cranes and migration is something normally passed from one generation to the next, so captive cranes don’t know a migration route. To be awarded one of the two Pepsi Refresh Project grants in the environment category Operation Migration must win the popular vote. They have gone from 72nd to 9th in the ranking and they need our votes to make it into the top two spots! You can vote as often as you like but voting ends on December 31st, 2010 so please go here to vote for Operation Migration: http://www.refresheverything.ca/helpwhoopingcranesnow
