Perhaps the Excelon nuclear plant could build a desalination plant and pump water for it's own purposes. Coastal habitats and economies that are based on fresh water flowing into our estuaries shouldn't be at risk. That is intentionally self serving!!!

At what point in time does the "M" in GBWM equal the "E" in VEDC? Sound management considers economic impacts, not necessarily economic profits, in its analysis of alternives for the use of resources. Apparently the burg of Victoria values a short-signted jobs project more than the value of a long-term solution to a critical issue.

Science is NOT going to rear its head in Victoria and take away much needed economic improvements. We'll soon see if they can "snap up" water that doesn't belong to them for their own little community improvement project.

This lawsuit if successful will help ensure the status quo which has been beneficial to our coastal estuaries which have enabled the endangered whooping cranes to come back from the brink of extinction. To remove fresh water will endanger our successful ecosytems and threaten our coastal economies that definitely rely on tourism for fishing, bird watching, and seafood.

Critics cannot can't fairly dismiss the TAP lawsuit with a "treehugger" label. Do these TAP members really look like tree huggers?

Aransas County Republican Party
Aransas County
City of Rockport
Town of Fulton
Aransas County Navigation District
Aransas County Democratic Club

TAP members include a broad cross-section of Texans and others-- conservative and liberal, young and old. The lawsuit is about protecting a coastal ecosystem that lots of good people depend on, including fishermen from throughout Texas. The Guadalupe River should be managed for the benefit of all Texans, including those who live and make a living at the lower end of it. That will save the whooping cranes and the bays for all to enjoy. It's just plain wrong to over-allocate River diversions to the detriment of downstream users, both cranes and humans.
