Paws & Taws, 402 N. Fulton Beach Rd., Fulton, Texas
Presentation by Jim Blackburn, TAP
Special Guest Participants – Bill West and Todd Votteler, GBRA
On February 22, 2016, the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority (GBRA) and TAP co-signed a white paper titled “Water, Habitat, Economy – A Shared Vision of the Future of the Guadalupe River System and San Antonio Bay”. This white paper is historic in that it brings together two parties that have been in dispute over Guadalupe River inflows to San Antonio Bay and the potential impacts of the reduced inflows on the endangered whooping cranes. The goal of the white paper for TAP and GBRA is to put aside past differences and work together for the good of the watershed, the bay and the whoopers.
At this meeting, the intent and direction of the agreement will be discussed. Bill West and Todd Votteler of GBRA will be in attendance and will participate in the program. The goal of this meeting is to introduce the Rockport area community and TAP member groups and individuals to the agreement and to the GBRA. Hopefully, together we can make something very good come out of this agreement and the efforts that will unfold under this agreement.
